Acapulco Bay is one of the trendiest Mexican restaurants in all of Arizona, located at 3030 N. 68th St. in Scottsdale. They have such an incredible selection of fresh seafood including red snapper, tilapia, shrimp, octopus, lobster tail, calamari, oysters, green mussels, scallops and crab. With all of their seafood prepared in garlic butter, spicy peppers and salsa butter. They cook most entrees Vera Cruz-style with olives and pickled jalapeños, breaded in cracker flour, grilled with peppers and onions or with fresh mushrooms and cheese. They also have great entrees that are not seafood with chicken dressed in Baja spices, marinated pork steak, carne asada and carnitas with crispy vegetables, fresh chunked guacamole and spicy pico de gallo.
La Hacienda located at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess at 7575 E. Princess Dr. in Scottsdale is the Valley’s premier high-end Mexican restaurant. You will not find tacos, burros or enchiladas here. Instead, you can feast on glorious appetizers like the ancho chile stuffed with chicken, nuts and dried fruit. The Mexican seafood entrees are outstanding, especially the potato-crusted tuna and huge grilled Gulf shrimp. And if you’re feeling adventurous, try the signature dish: cochinillo asado, which is a roast suckling pig, carved at your table.
Crescent Moon located at 10600 E Crescent Moon Dr in Scottsdale specializes in cuisine influenced by the regional flavors of Mexico and Arizona’s Sonoran Desert. Taking centre stage at the restaurant are a wood-burning kava oven, a large and lavishly stocked wraparound buffet and an open kitchen providing a bird’s-eye view of the chefs at work. The restaurant’s menu features American favourites infused with regional ingredients, including fresh fish and meat from the grill, homemade flatbreads from the wood-fired kava oven, salads and specialty entrees reflecting the regional culinary influences of the Resort’s Sonoran Desert home. It has American food with a Mexican mix which makes this one of the top Mexican infused restaurants in the valley
Los Sombreros located at 2534 N Scottsdale Rd in Scottsdale in one of the best true Mexican Restaurants in the valley. A deep menu offers notable starters, ranging from grilled cactus pad with vinaigrette salad to beef gorditas with guacamole and salsa. Portions are massive with one queso fun dido appetizer being enough to easily feed a table of four. There are also about a dozen different entrees are available on any given day. Specialties include grilled chicken breast with spinach in chipotle cream, shrimp and tortillas simmered in salsa verde, a pork mole made with pumpkin seeds and braised lamb shank with ancho chile sauce. Not to mention their incredible desserts that include chocolate tamales and a cheesecake with prickly pear sauce.
